Job Description
A Quantity Surveyor is responsible for estimating and managing the costs related to construction projects. They play a crucial role in the planning and budgeting stages of a project as well as ensuring cost control throughout its duration.
Key responsibilities of a Quantity Surveyor include:
- Preparing cost plans, estimates, and budgets
- Assessing and reviewing contract documents
- Conducting feasibility studies and cost analysis
- Monitoring project progress and cost variations
- Preparing and submitting progress reports and final accounts
- Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors
- Ensuring adherence to legal and contractual requirements
Qualified candidates should possess a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field, as well as strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Proficiency in relevant software and a solid understanding of construction practices and regulations are also required.
