Job Description
We are currently seeking a Procurement Specialist with experience in the freight forwarding industry to join our team at DHL. As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for managing communication, negotiation, and relationship building with our partners.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing and submitting quotations and proposals
- Attending networking events and handling customer inquiries
- Negotiating and establishing contracts with shipping lines/carriers
- Providing various reports including weekly/monthly management and customer reports
- Requesting rates from service providers
- Maintaining a high standard of service delivery
- Conducting performance analysis of ocean freight and customer service providers
- Compiling and following up on daily operations
- Resolving problems and queries efficiently
- Addressing internal/external operational issues and coordinating with vendors
- Performing other duties as assigned by management
Requirements:
- Minimum Diploma in Logistics Management and/or Bachelor in Logistics Management. Business studies with a minor in Logistics & Supply Chain is preferred.
- At least 2 years of working experience in a Procurement role, preferably in the freight forwarding industry
- Strong relationship building skills and knowledge of shipping and forwarder management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint) to compile shipment estimates
- Meticulous, responsible, and positive working attitude
- Willingness to help others
- Position located in Subang Jaya, USJ 25
