Job Description

Job Vacancy: Chargeman BO 33KV (Solar PV) With Attractive Salary Package

Work Location: TNB Project based at Kuala Langat, Selangor

Job Scope:

• Operate & perform switching for HT/LV electrical systems (up to 33kV)
• Ensure compliance with PTW, LOTO & ST procedures
• Maintain solar PV electrical systems (inverter, transformer, switchgear)
• Conduct inspection & preventive/corrective maintenance
• Respond to breakdowns and electrical faults
• Supervise technicians/contractors during electrical works
• Maintain logbook & prepare reports (weekly/monthly)
• Attend meetings with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) when required

Requirements & Certificates: –

• At least 3-5 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position. (Experienced in TNB project will be an advantage)
• Valid Chargeman BO (33KV) Certificate from Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST).
• Education: Diploma/ Certificate Higher in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. (Required)
• Experience: Operating & Maintaining High-Voltage System (33kv): 3 years (Required)
• License/Certification:Chargeman BO (33KV) by ST (Mandatory) & HSE Training NIOSH Tenaga Safety Passport/CIDB (if valid)
• Ability to commute/relocate: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
• Strong understanding of electrical principles and practical knowledge of facility and utility machinery and equipment.
• Sound knowledge of the Electricity Supply Act 1990 and Electricity Regulations 1994.
• Familiarity with Suruhanjaya Tenaga guidelines, Codes of Practice, and safe working procedures for HT installations.
• Understanding of Permit to Work (PTW) systems and statutory record-keeping requirements (logbooks, switching records).
• Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance of HT/LV equipment such as switchgear, transformers, and distribution boards.
• Ability to interpret single line diagrams (SLD), electrical drawings, and schematic.
• Experience in enforcing safety compliance for contractors, including PPE, PTW, and method statements.
• Basic computer literacy for report (email, maintenance systems, spreadsheets, or CMMS).
• Effective command of English and Bahasa Melayu.
• Willingness to respond and attend any emergency request within the response time mutually agreed upon by both parties (if required).
• Strong commitment to safety procedures.
• Good leadership, teamwork, clear communication, able to work independently, self-starting and coordination skills across departments.

Others Information: This project with TNB is responsible for the generation and delivery of electricity from the 50MWac solar photovoltaic power plant into the gridline. The plant consists of 33kV systems connecting the solar facilities i.e. solar panels, combiner boxes and medium voltage power station (“MVPS”) to the interconnection facilities which subsequently connects to PMU Bukit Changgang (“BCHG”) through the 132kV underground cable. Require competent, experienced, and qualified person to be BO33kV Chargeman (“Chargeman”) for maintenance of 50MWac large scale photovoltaic plant (“the Service”). The Chargeman is considered as a professional support service provider to TSS’s operation and maintenance team during the operation phase of the plant when rendering the Service.
