Job Description
The Claims Specialist is responsible for managing and processing insurance claims. They play a crucial role in assessing the validity of claims, investigating incidents, and determining the coverage and amount to be paid to policyholders or beneficiaries.
Key responsibilities:
- Evaluating and processing insurance claims in accordance with company policies and guidelines
- Investigating and gathering necessary information, such as documentation and interviews, to assess the validity and accuracy of the claim
- Collaborating with external parties, including adjusters, lawyers, and medical professionals, to obtain expert opinions and resolve complex claims
- Reviewing policy coverage and determining the extent of liability
- Negotiating settlements and ensuring prompt and accurate payment to claimants
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation of claims, correspondence, and case progress
