Job Description
What you will do:
The Category Buyer at Johnson Controls International will be responsible for project spend in the APAC region. Key responsibilities include supplier scouting, selection, and management, price negotiation, contract management, and driving product optimization. The buyer will develop and execute a category strategy to support the company’s growth plans, focusing on cost savings and working capital improvements.
How you will do it:
- Drive improvement in material spend through supplier negotiation.
- Enhance working capital through supplier payment term management.
- Develop and implement category strategies for field projects.
- Manage supplier accounts and optimize the supply base.
- Conduct supplier performance reviews and negotiations.
- Maintain contracts and supply conditions.
- Stay updated on market intelligence and scout new suppliers.
- Deploy a global preferred supplier strategy for quality and cost improvement.
What we look for:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of sourcing/procurement experience; HVAC knowledge preferred.
- Ability to handle APAC region is advantageous.
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in a fast-paced and multicultural environment.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, especially in Pivot Table and VLOOKUP.
