Job Description
An Aquarist Consultant is responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on all aspects of aquarium management. This includes maintaining the health and wellbeing of the aquatic life, ensuring proper water quality and filtration systems, and managing the overall aesthetics of the aquarium.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting regular inspections to ensure the aquarium’s health and safety standards are met
- Providing recommendations on fish species selection, tank decorations, and other necessary supplies
- Monitoring and adjusting water parameters such as pH levels, temperature, and salinity
- Evaluating filtration systems and suggesting improvements or replacements when necessary
- Designing and implementing captivating underwater landscapes and themed displays
- Advising clients on proper feeding schedules, disease prevention, and troubleshooting any potential issues
Requirements:
- A degree in Marine Biology, Fisheries, or a related field
- Proven experience in aquarium management, ideally in a similar consultancy role
- Exceptional knowledge of fish species, their care requirements, and compatibility
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
