Job Description
As a Business Analyst – Medical Underwriting, you will play a crucial role in our organization’s insurance operations. You will be responsible for analyzing and evaluating medical data related to insurance policies, working closely with the underwriting team to assess the risk factors involved in providing coverage for various health conditions. Your main responsibilities will include gathering and interpreting medical information, such as medical histories, test results, and treatment plans. You will use this data to provide insightful analysis and recommendations to the underwriters, helping them make informed decisions on policy approvals or rejections.
Additionally, you will collaborate with the product development team to shape and refine our medical underwriting guidelines. To excel in this role, you should have a strong background in medical knowledge, with an understanding of various health conditions, treatments, and their associated risks. You must possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to assess and interpret complex medical information accurately. A good understanding of insurance policies and risk assessment principles is also essential. In addition to your medical expertise, you should be skilled in data analysis and have the ability to work with large sets of medical data. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are highly valued, as you will be working closely with the underwriting team, as well as other departments within our organization.
