Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, practices, and regulations in Malaysia and Singapore.
• Handle day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
• Coordinate with bankers, company secretaries, auditors, and tax agents regarding company matters.
• Assist in annual audit work, prepare financial statements, and file company tax returns.
• Prepare and review financial reports, reports, and budgets.
• Regularly reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and intercompany transactions.
• Manage internal billing processes, including invoicing, payment tracking, and revenue recognition.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Conduct periodic audits of financial activities and records to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Assist in preparing tax returns, including income tax, goods and services tax (GST), sales and service tax (SST), and withholding tax.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documents.
• Perform any other ad hoc responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CIMA are preferred.
• At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance positions.
• Deep understanding of accounting principles, regulations, and practices in Malaysia and Singapore.
• Prior audit knowledge will be an additional advantage.
• Familiarity with financial reporting, regulatory, and tax matters in Singapore will be an additional advantage.
• Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Experience with internal billing processes, including invoicing, payment tracking, and revenue recognition.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Fluent in written and spoken English. Knowledge of other languages is an advantage.
