Job Description
An underwriter is responsible for assessing and evaluating insurance applications to determine the level of risk involved. They review insurance policies and documents, analyze applicants’ financial status and medical records, and ensure that all necessary information is complete and accurate.
Underwriters also calculate premiums and determine terms and conditions of coverage. They collaborate with agents and brokers, provide professional advice, and answer any inquiries from clients or policyholders.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of insurance regulations are essential for success in this role. Excellent communication and decision-making abilities are also required to assess risk accurately and make informed decisions.
